Yearly Budget : What is your current yearly budget for the initiative?
1. Founding story: Share a story about the "Aha!" moment that led the founder(s) to get started or the story of how you saw the potential for this project to succeed.
Mr Ahabwe Canary who was part of us but had left to Isreal to advance his studies in Agriculture.
When he came back,around June 2019,as an organisation, we had made researched on the causes of increasing school dropouts ,early marriages and teenage pregnacies.
It was found out that the main cause was poverty, parents lack supportive means to carter for their children.beside the inadequate land to help them increase their productivity, there is a problem of climatic changes and yet these people have only one income revenue.
The idea of girl inspire project through mushroom production was birthed to train equip and empower those who have fallen victims of child early marriages and school dropouts to attain economic self reliance.
2. The problem: What problem are you helping to solve?
-land shortages with increasing populations.
-exploitation and use of these girls for cheap labour in people’s gardens where at times they are denied their pay.
-it is an approach to challenges of climate change.
3. Your solution: How are you working to solve this problem? Share your specific approach.
- Provision of mushroom growing implements namely: drums, wheelbarrows, tarpaulins, weighing scales, sealing machines, spawns, lime, timber, nails and cotton waste
-we provide ready market for their mushroom and we do value addition forexample making mushroom tea and mushroom coffee
4. Innovation: How are you innovating or using unique approaches to solve the problem?
• Train, equip and empower: youths and women are equipped and empowered with knowledge, information, skills and tools of getting out of poverty through training in sustainable approaches of mushroom growing, production and value addition that lead to improved livelihoods.
• Involvement and Participation: our farmers are encouraged to actively participate in development of initiatives that lead them out of poverty through their own participation. This ensures effectiveness and efficiency within the enterprise as well as project ownership teamwork and unity amongst beneficiaries.

5. Collaboration: How does your initiative seek to bring key players together to preserve biodiversity?
Our initiative works to strengthen communities especially women and youths to respond to better farming practices, environmental conservation, proper land use and food security attainment.we have started on building strong partnership with other organizations like Mbarara University
of science and Technology, youth go green Uganda a,the district environment officer to engage the community and create awareness and sensitization on preserving biodiversity.

8. Creating shared value: How does your initiative create value for society? Or different stakeholders?
Mushrooms are a delicacy among almost all members of society in Uganda and therefore are consumed from restaurants, hotels, homes, schools, churches, hospitals and supermarkets. . The health benefits obtained from mushrooms have become a milestone in redeeming lives of the pregnant mothers,young children and elderly.
9. Financial sustainability plan: can you tell us about your plan to fund your project and how that plan will be sustainable in the short, medium, and long term?
financial return obtained from sale of mushrooms is to ensure sustainability of the project by the beneficiaries. Good financial management procedures are to be emphasized to ensure proper utilization and re-investment of income from the sale of mushrooms into the project by the beneficiaries while maintaining credit and saving systems.
