In October, 2007, while employed as a Sr. Financial Advisor with Merrill Lynch, located in Merrillville IN - One of Kevin goals were to build " Bridges" into underserved communities. Kevin began to contact community leaders in Business, Politics and Education. Experiencing up close, numerous challenges that educators were faced with daily,( low student scores, lack of Technology, etc.) Kevin set in motion a game plan to incorporate all community leaders to help engage a solution for children.

Problem: What problem is this project trying to address?

Jones Software Corporation is in the business of Education and Equality Mgmt. JSC’s aim is improving the lives of children beyond secondary education worldwide. JSC will build relationships with community and corporate leaders through a mentor/protégé approach to launch Student Incentives ~ Initiative Program. This resource will focus on K-12th, while mapping a Succession Plan, which provides students a road map in becoming Product citizens.

Jones Software Corporation - Aim is to helps dreams come true for all students by providing a strong support system, incorporating state of the art technology, Leaders from business, government, community and faithbase, acting as mentors, tutors, while providing a pathway to success.

We will build excitement around our program though a kick-off/launch presentation at each school. Our corporate partners will be introduced as providers of workshop educational learning at one of their many locations. Meritocracy programs will be introduced as part of our program as students learn while earning internships ( when available) and other incentives, while gaining valuable life lessons with exposure outside of their immediate communities. Our aim is building self-esteem and self-confidence in students which will enable the student to compete with their peers globally.

Impact: What was the impact of your work last year? Please also describe the projected future impact for the coming years.

Sixteen weeks after treatment, students were administered the same test. Student scores in the general education class post test scores ranged from 5 to 27 and had increased from an average of 4.5 to 14.8 (29.8% correct) with a standard deviation of 7.4. Students in the special education class who received the daily treatment had post test scores range from 13 to 25 and a greater increase in their class average from 2.3 to 18.9 (37.8% correct) with a standard deviation of 3.9. The variances in the two groups remained similar, with the general education students displaying a wider box and whisker plot as compared to the smaller variance and tighter clustered scores in the special education class. By the end of the study, the general education class had improved by an average of 20.7% correct and the special education class had improved by an average of 33.1% correct.

Yes, other organizations are making a difference in the educational technology field. What Makes Jones Software Corporation unique is that it takes a community to raise children into productive citizen. JSC is in the business of bringing communities together and incorporating state of the art technology to provide students with the best options from the world of tech, business, government, media, etc.

Reflect on the Field and its Future: Stepping outside of your project, what do you see as the most important or promising shifts that can advance children’s wellbeing?

Excitement is already brewing for Jones Software Corporation as we understand that our " ilikemath" software is important to bring students to level - JSC ultimate goal is to provide a pathway to success for students by establishing long-term relationships with mentors/tutors that may not be readily available in most situations.
