Problem: What problem is this initiative trying to address?

Lack of access to clean water for domestic, farming and general purposes in poor urban and rural communities.

Solution Summary: What is the proposed solution? What do you see as its most promising aspects for creating shared value?

Build boreholes in specific sections of the community to serve the living areas, the farms, the schools and other communal areas.

Impact: What is the impact of the work to date? Specify both the social and the environmental impact of your work

1. Access to clean water
2. Reduction in diseases caused by unclean water
3. Increased food production and in turn better nutrition
4. Reduction in gender inequalities and child labour in search of water

Financial sustainability plan: How is this initiative financially supported? How will you ensure its financial sustainability long-term?

1. Individual donations or gifts: 50%
2. Grants: 0%
3. Corporate contributions: 10%
4. Other (Contributions of the Board): 40%

Unique value proposition: What makes your initiative innovative? How does your project differ from other organizations working in the same field?

We provide more than one borehole per community and our mapping covers the communal areas.

Founding story: Share a story about the "Aha!" moment that sparked the beginning of this initiative.

We were carrying out an outreach program in a rural community in Kaduna state and couldn't find clean drinking water for miles. The locals generously offered us dirty water and that was when we realized why they had such a high number of water borne diseases affecting their children and communities. We also realized that women and children spend hours everyday going to get water for the household and that was restricting their ability to take part in community leadership and business (for women) and their ability to go to school and thrive (for children).

I have been working since last 15 years to solve the drinking water problem and I feel boring is not a very bright solution due to:
1. It affects the water table
2. water may be contaminated with non biological contaminants
3. needs energy to withdraw the water from ground.

Think about rainwater and supplement it with ground water
