Problem: What problem is this initiative trying to address?

We are solving the problem of Food losses from farm to fork due to spoilage and mechanical damage.
We are also providing jobs for the rural women and youths through our roundabout approach to harnessing all the activities along the value chain for enterprise development.
Temophadis set out to bridge gaps among the major agricultural stakeholders through our innovative extension service delivery.

Solution Summary: What is the proposed solution? What do you see as its most promising aspects for creating shared value?

Through our farm processing units in various farm settlements, we help farmers to convert their crude produce to more stable form for easy transportation and storage. Such processing activities as gratting, slicing, drying, frying and bagging for storage are carried out in the farm factories and the semi finished produce which is now industrial grade are transportated to the agromart in cities through our partner vendors.
Our extension service delivery ensures accessibility to latest innovative agricultural practices that improve productivity hence community development.
In all our activities, we are using Agribusiness to transform agricultural sector through value chain modification for rural development and economic producivity.

Impact: What is the impact of the work to date? Specify both the social and the environmental impact of your work

Over 20 female farmers have benefitted from our extension service in Oyo State.
Through our farm factories, we have been able to develop 3 products of high nutritional value for mother and child to solve the issue of hidden hunger. These products are consumed in over 8 states in Nigeria.

Financial sustainability plan: How is this initiative financially supported? How will you ensure its financial sustainability long-term?

The start up capital in 2016 was raised from the contributions from friends and families and since then 80% of our annual budget is been financed from our earned income from our operations through
1. sales of farm inputs to farmers which amount to 20%
2. processing charges and Extension service 50%
4. Sales of Agric products 30%
The remaining 20% is new capital injection for expansion which is a contributions from my personal savings

Unique value proposition: What makes your initiative innovative? How does your project differ from other organizations working in the same field?

Value chain amplification through bottom-up and participatory approach is what makes the difference!

Founding story: Share a story about the "Aha!" moment that sparked the beginning of this initiative.

In the first quarter of 2016 while working with Harvestplus to gather data on Impact evaluation of vitamin A bio fortified cassava in Oyo State and my experience with Fulani milk producers during my MSc. research work I discovered that only small fraction of what is produced is what eventually get consumed due to lack of value addition processing facilities, lack of storage facilities, market instability and poor or no technical know how.
With so much pain in my heart, I recommended that government should establish processing centres but I later realised that this might be a pipe dream considering the poor policies implementation of most African governments. Then I start Temophadis Industries that serves actors along the Agric value chain

Good work, great way to avoid food losses, could you please explain in more detail the unique value proposition?

We keenly work with the producers to give them the best method of production, processing, packaging and branding. We are Bio-security conscious, increasing shelf-life of farm produce with zero additives.
