Problem: What problem is this initiative trying to address?

50% percent (apprx) of Bangladeshis live on less than $2.0/day. With a population subsiding largely in rural areas, access to medical care is near impossible due to geographic, financial, temporal & social barriers. Rural populations, particularly children & women, receive care from local informal providers who lack the knowledge & technology to treat people effectively. Advin technology will allow to better asses child nutrition, women's health & simultaneously improve healthcare worker's productivity.

Solution Summary: What is the proposed solution? What do you see as its most promising aspects for creating shared value?

ADVIN will provide rural health centers a technology which is a connected, portable and intelligent health care system embedded with artificial intelligence that allows patients or individual to monitor vital signs, screen major non-communicable diseases and communicate with physicians anywhere and anytime through integrated biosensors.Through the device, healthcare workers can collect more than 50+ patient health measures, connect patients with physicians for further consultation, & build a health record. The most exciting aspects of the technology are the A.I. algorithms that learn from patient history, and can accurately diagnose health issues on the spot. Furthermore, the A.I. software can identify dangerous health situations and connect a physician with the patient for further instruction and/or to prescribe medication, all on-the-spot. ADVIN will use existing rural healthcare physical centers which will allow them to quickly reach the larger community.

Impact: What is the impact of the work to date? Specify both the social and the environmental impact of your work

The portability and efficiency of ADVIN's devices lets us bring high quality primary care to rural regions. The World Bank predicted that 90% of health issues can be prevented through effective primary care, and that's exactly what ADVIN provides. To date, ADVIN devices are in more than 26 clinics across Bangladesh, bringing more than 780,000 people access to quality care. ADVIN diagnosed 34% of pregnant women with diabetes, 6% of newborns with diabetes, and 48% of adults with hypertension. All were previously undiagnosed conditions that ADVIN let healthcare workers identify, ensuring that patients were able to seek necessary further care. Furthermore, health-related travel costs were cut by 62% with ADVIN's implementation, and more than 135 jobs are being created. Through health campaigns, ADVIN has raised health literacy form more than 150,000 rural community members, and facilitated physicians in issuing more than 6,000 prescriptions through ADVIN's digital platform.

Financial sustainability plan: How is this initiative financially supported? How will you ensure its financial sustainability long-term?

We are for-profit Impact Driven technology Enterprise. Our business model is mainly both B2B and B2C.
ADVIN has 3 main revenue generation streams.
a) Selling the 1st Care Box technology to the Community healthcare workers
b) Selling of health screening consumables (such as Screening test strips)
c) Service income would be generated through selling of the health talk time & platform. NGOs & community health care provider, who will be using ADVIN platform to perform primary health services to offer health services to their beneficiaries.
ADVIN has partnered with large NGOs & will leverage NGO’s health care network to reach targeted sales & revenue. The revenue model is customer funded so 75% of the revenue will come from above income sources & 25% will be covered by corporate support

Unique value proposition: What makes your initiative innovative? How does your project differ from other organizations working in the same field?

ADVIN is unique in its comprehensive approach to digital health. Combining biosensors, digital-health records, & access to physician consultation, all in one device, ensures accuracy of healthcare. Our Innovation will provide early detection of diseases which saves lives, provide affordable low-cost healthcare to rural patient at door steps which saves time and money, confirm access to doctors that will remove doctor patient gap, access to right medicine that avoid drug related health complicates

Founding story: Share a story about the "Aha!" moment that sparked the beginning of this initiative.

During my wife's pregnancy with our 2nd child, she had pregnancy-related diabetics and was supposed to go through a training at Toronto general hospital to manage her diabetics. My daughter was born on 2015 February, the coldest month in Canada. During one of the sessions, My wife asked me to park the car to a nearby gate. While doing so, I was thinking what happened at my birth as I was born in a remote village in Bangladesh. Then I called my mother in Bangladesh and asked if there was an opportunity for her to screen for pregnancy-related problems and she said no. After that, I asked some NGOs about the current health condition. And I found out, we still don't have the technology to measure and monitor the health condition for women and child health. . I wanted to change this practice and once I returned to Canada, I took the initiative to form ADVIN - a digital first care box.

Dear Mohammad Alim,

I just went through your application and really liked your idea. Your project is a needed initiative for vulnerable children. The idea in this project is very original and your effort is very genuine. Keep up the good work.

May I request some of your time to also evaluate the initiative constructed by our team because it lies in page three and up to now poor attention was received. To find the application, you will have to Select ‘‘PHASE> Prize entry’’. On the right section of page, under the heading ‘‘FOCUS AREAS’’ click on "WATER". Go to Page 3> Click "Evaluate" on application titled "Turning the tables for Temiar tribe of Malaysia". I would also appreciate if you either applaud us or leave a comment on our page if you deem us worthy.

Thank you very much.
