Problem: What problem is this initiative trying to address?

My project is addressing the prevailing food poisoning majorly caused by infected poultry brought to the community. It will also address the issue of malnutrition and sales of infected chicken. It will also alleviate unemployment in my Community which has resulted in various forms of social vices (robbery, raping, kidnapping etc) threatening the community.

Solution Summary: What is the proposed solution? What do you see as its most promising aspects for creating shared value?

We have started by creating a farming business where youths are employed and help them to develop their talents and channel their energy into course that will be of benefit to them, their immediate environment and the society at large. We organize skill acquisition programs (e.g. snail farming, poultry keeping, bees rearing, etc.) and assist the less privileged especially young students by providing them with basic school materials needed to enhance their performance; these are done through profits generated. The poultry farming is able to provide alternate source of protein which can drastically reduce malnutrition rate among the children and also reduce food poisoning caused by infected chicken, thus creating a healthy community

Impact: What is the impact of the work to date? Specify both the social and the environmental impact of your work

It has reduced dumping of poultry chickens and eggs into the community and improved quality and affordable chickens consumed and therefore improved healthy living. My business has increased access to poultry products, a good source of animal protein which is important for our children and thereby cutting down the number of malnutrition children. It limits the health implication that could emanate from red meat consumption especially with those having atherosclerosis. There is increment in food production through planting of crops and thereby reduces famine that may likely occur in our community and Nigeria at large. The business will empower the youths with necessary skills needed to unlock their potentials in them through skill acquisition program (such as snail farming, poultry keeping, bees rearing, etc.) and mentor ship thereby reducing social vices in the community.

Financial sustainability plan: How is this initiative financially supported? How will you ensure its financial sustainability long-term?

The project which was started with personal savings has gained wider supports, I was selected for series of entrepreneurship training by Nigeria government in 2015 and was given a financial support in 2016 to the tune of $5,000 which is being paid in tranches. Another $5,000 grant was also given by Tony Elumelu Foundation in 2015 for entrepreneur. The projects will soon depend on revenue to fulfill its obligation and meet its financial expenses

Unique value proposition: What makes your initiative innovative? How does your project differ from other organizations working in the same field?

Required vaccines are administered to chickens, healthy ones are slaughtered, processed.

Founding story: Share a story about the "Aha!" moment that sparked the beginning of this initiative.

Early 2005 there was an outbreak of food infection (Salmonellosis) in Osun state which really affected about 35% of the population then and about 10% lost their lives to the infection, among them was my a brother of my, the various diagnosis done before his death and postmortem results supported the claim. It was gathered that the aged and young children were mostly affected. Consequently, creating access to high quality and healthy chickens for low income communities has reduced the problem of eating contaminated chickens that can lead to serial infection. It will increase the availability of the products not only in the community but also across the country throughout the year.

Idea is to reduce the unemployment and engage youth in some constructive work. However, I feel it may not be a economic advantageous until unless you take help of youth in other work and train them in some skill development. Break even is quite difficult

Rajiv thanks for Contribution, We will take your suggestions into consideration. I know is not going to be easy to break even, but for now my major concern was to impact the life of unemployed youth.
