The social enterprise Boneza Ball Sport for Development is based on a new and easy sporty game “Boneza Ball” that was invented by Jonas Ngirinshuti in 2011 and certified by Rwanda Development Board (RDB) in 2015 as his intellectual property. Boneza Ball has specific rules and regulations and equipment. It is creating an easy sport access for people with disability, children at school and ladies.
Boneza Ball is a game where two teams of six players, compete on any flat surface, be it grass, synthetic grass, concrete, or tarmac court (28m x 14m) which is divided into two sides with a straight line. On this line, there are two vertical posts standing at the edge of Urutavogerwa, connected by two parallel, horizontal ropes. Imbonezo is mounted in the centre of the ropes, into which a ball is targeted to score goals (for more information about Boneza Ball rules regulations contact us).
We are making Boneza Ball equipment such as Imbonezo, Imfashi, the ball etc through reusing the wastage from motorbike tyres and other old plastics and metals.
We are building professional ability of Boneza Ball equipment producers, coaches, referees, players, clubs, federations, championship in the world and game known as inclusive, attractive, affordable and easy to learn and play.

It is an easy-to-play game and helps those who practice it stay healthy and socialise with one another. In addition, Boneza Ball is a game which does not require costly materials

Founding story: Share a story about the "Aha!" moment that sparked the beginning of this initiative.
I am the fifth of fourteen children and I started developing entrepreneurship skills and talents at eleven years old in artistic field as songs composer, singer, guitarist and visual arts. Art enabled me to contribute in my schooling payments up to university training. I completed advanced level in Electronics and Telecommunication and a bachelor’s degree in the Faculty of Finance. I am completing masters training in projects management.
Boneza Ball is an inspiration that I had in my dreams to see people gathered together healthy, doing sport, producing kits, exchanging business and cultural ideas. I started trying its play-abilities and inventing its equipment up to a progress where we are today. We are still improving Boneza Ball
