I am Rwandan. I grew up in Eastern province where there is huge plantation of banana trees which leaves abundant residues after harvest.

Problem: What problem is this initiative trying to address?
1.girls missing on the school because of loose of affordable pad. when girls loose affordable pad during theirs periodic that cause to miss on the school 1 month /9 months of study.
2.few number investing in agro business due to lower income from it.
3.few food in Africa because of minimum number making agro business due to lower income from it.
4.lower way of to use our local material and residue in order to get usable products

Company’s mission: Keeping women productive and comfortable during menstruation period by providing them with healthy, affordable sanitary pads.
My enterprise is centered on these key components:
-Social responsiveness: The enterprise produces healthy pads which are more absorbent and chemicals free.
-Afford ability : Our products are produced locally, from locally sourced materials which make them more affordable on the market than other types of pads which are imported or produced from imported materials.
-Environmental protection: In the production of fibers, we use banana residues which would otherwise end up in landfills and turn them into other products of value. Thus reducing waste.
At the current stage,my company is focused on the production of sanitary pads but in the future we plan to expand our product portfolio and start producing papers and clothes to optimize fiber
Impact: What is the impact of the work to date? Specify both the social and the environmental impact of your work
1.When we use banana fiber to produce these product .Cushion covers, necties bags, cloths, paper and notebook,best absorber pads for menstruation & ect….,…..
. the cost of that products will be reduced up 50% to 70% because of the banana fiber came residue of banana tree with easily method of extraction.
1.We produce pads for menstruation management from the banana fiber, my pads are cheaper to reduce 60% of ordinary cost of pads and affordable for menstruation because of banana fiber properties are good absorbents.
2.pad we produce are written information about the sex reproduction and planning familial that help the girls and women to know more about their life of sex reproduction that enable them to know how can live and the protection required.
NB. per mouth we are producing 1250 packages of sanitary pads that enable 15000 people/mouth know it information

Earned income because the banana fiber come from the residual of banana tree after harvest and also banana trees are our local material . with banana fiber we produce needed product on the markets

I am Rwandan of 26 years older, I grew up in Eastern province where there is huge plantation of banana trees which leaves abundant residues after harvest. Looking at those abundant resources in my neighborhood, I started thinking of how I can turn them into something of value. So I came up with an enterprise that produces fibers and turn them into sanitary pads.

on 17/03/2017 i won the as the best innovator of dot Rwanda competition and also i'm top 5 finalist of African Association for Administration and Management (AAPAM) award for innovative management.
