Problem: What problem is this initiative trying to address?

Livestock is very important for Lao people. 89% of Lao households are raising one or more livestock types. Traditional feed include rice bran. The cost of feed is high and the quality is low. Malnutrition remains one of the most serious threats to children’s health in Lao PDR. Nearly half the country’s children suffer some form of nutrition-related illness. Nutrition is a key concern in Lao PDR, where at least one out of three of children under the age of 5 suffer from stunting

The method is to provide innovative feed to replace the traditional one. Each Lao farmers can save 0.12 US$ per kg or minimum 250 US$ per year, besides because of better quality, the yield is doubled reaching minimum 500 US$ per year. 500 $ is impacting the life of Lao people hugely.

Since two year ACTD has provided innovative feed to replace the traditional one. Each Lao farmer can save 0.12 US$ per kg or minimum 250 US$ per year, besides because of better quality, the yield is doubled each farmer can earn minimum 500 US$ per year. 500 $ is impacting the life of Lao people hugely. Meat products belong to one of the six major food groups. Poultry, pork, red meat, game and fish all provide the body with essential nutrients, minerals and vitamins in order for it to remain healthy. Meats are extremely high in protein. Vitamins are vital in maintaining a healthy body. Meat is a particularly good source of vitamin E and B vitamins including B2, B6 and B12.

Feed with good quality that brings yield two times higher , but the cost is two time lower have helped poor farmers a lot. The farmers continue to benefit from no cost for training and ACTD has brought the product to every household. We are the first provider and nobody can serve communities like us.

At the beginning Lao farmers did change their habit a little, but through our services communities then increase the number of purchasing feed and the number of livestock. Aha, farmer save a lot of money.
