The IntelliTree is a smart grid-integrated municipal and private structure. Solar cells on the “canopy” of the tree generate electricity during the daylight hours which is immediately integrated into the city grid. Modular branch systems allow for a tree to be beneficial in many locations such as street corners, sidewalks, parks, or bus stops. Each tree can have up to four branches attached based on proximity to other trees or other structures. Smart grid technology is constantly being developed meaning home-integration with IntelliTrees is sure to be supported in the near future.
