Problem: What problem is this initiative trying to address?

Improper nutrition and unlogical diets cause deficiency or excess of nutrients in the development of children. Parents lack knowledge and information of taking care of children’s nutritional status. They don’t know how to choose proper food and vegetables for their children. Therefore, they often adopt incorrect information of healthcare and nutrition posted on the internet and gossip from their friends, neighbors, etc. for their children. Children lack knowledge and awareness about the importance of good eating habits.

Solution Summary: What is the proposed solution? What do you see as its most promising aspects for creating shared value?

A survey and research about healthcare and nutrition is deployed with the participation of students, teachers, parents and medical workers in primary schools. The research’s results will complement and support in building the school health care model for primary students by the chain of activities such as “Nutrition Kitchen”, “Nutritional Journey”, especially for nutrition training and consulting programs organized. We aim at promoting the participation and the opportunities by using technology (building nutrition apps) and organizing community campaigns in order to attract the concern of people. Via that, parents and teachers will concern more about the nutritional quality of children’s meals, and the risk of relevant sicknesses such as overweight, under-nutrition, anorexia, etc. will be reduced.

Impact: What is the impact of the work to date? Specify both the social and the environmental impact of your work

The deployment of the healthcare and nutrition model providing necessary knowledge and information for parents and schools will create the motivation to improve the nutritional quality which is suitable for students. The nutritional quality improved creates Improved nutritional quality contributes to well-developed children and reduces the pressure on nutritional diseases for families, schools and communities. Nutrition campaigns implemented in the project, such as: Run for health, My family’s meals, etc. have the participation of the community in order to spread the message and meaning of the project.

Financial sustainability plan: How is this initiative financially supported? How will you ensure its financial sustainability long-term?

Initially, seek partnership with donor companies, schools, and the National Institute of Nutrition mainly: the National Institute of Nutrition will support us in designing and editing the healthcare and nutrition model. Schools will be responsible for promoting students, teachers and parents in increasing awareness of healthcare and nutrition. Moreover, we also organize “Run for Health” festival for the whole community in order to raise funds for providing healthcare and nutrition supports for poor and vulnerable children.

Unique value proposition: What makes your initiative innovative? How does your project differ from other organizations working in the same field?

The project requires the active participation and opinion contribution of the beneficiaries and the stakeholders, especially the National Institute of Nutrition. in the survey process as well as the deployment process. Therefore, the project will be highly practical and meet the essential needs. Moreover, the involvement of many beneficiaries also contributes to the spread of the project to the community. The model can also be replicated, because it is built in a flexible, generalized manner.

Founding story: Share a story about the "Aha!" moment that sparked the beginning of this initiative.

We all live in a family with a growing child, and in periodic parents meetings; and in regular parent-teacher meetings, teachers often complain that primary students skip their lunch regularly. This leads to the lack of energy to study in the afternoon. In addition, when picking up our children, we find that they eat snacks, street food and fast food; therefore, they often feel full and have no interest in family meals. This leads to overweight, obesity, under-nutrition, etc. Moreover, there are many cases of children being sick, because their parents adopt incorrect information of healthcare and nutrition posted on mass communication and gossip from friends, neighbors, etc for their children. Because of these above reasons, we want to implement this project with the belief that it will help children improve their nutritional status.

Your project is quite encouraging even though you are just starting operations. Provision of knowledge about good nutritional choices and habits is quite good to empower people to have good nutritional habits. It will be quite appropriate to work on your financial sustainability plan to ensure that the project is sustained over time. Kudos.
