Problem: What problem is this initiative trying to address?
More than 50% of Tanzania youth face unemployment problem ,Its because many youth depend on being employed by the government while government cant afford employing them all, Its approximated that 90% of jailed people in Tanzania are youth this is due to increase of their crime activities such as theft, violence and drags abusing, this contributes much in dragging back effort toward development in more than 50%, that's why we dedicate our efforts toward battle against unemployment problem aiming to tackle more than 80%.
Solution Summary: What is the proposed solution? What do you see as its most promising aspects for creating shared value?
Youth with agriculture believes that youth pray a big role in any country development ,this means that they should be access to unlimited opportunities and knowledge which will redirect them on earning their own legal income, different with that a particular country will remain dormancy on its development, realizing that youth with agriculture dedicating on transforming youth's lives through agriculture by providing and promoting agricultural knowledge to youth through villages visits, books, websites(Www.tanzanianakilimo.blogspot.com) farm field schools, seminars, farm demonstrations and through villages meetings, We dedicate on this aspect because we realized that many youth fail to engage in agriculture due to poor access of agricultural knowledge which will guide them into better farm performance. example youth Maize farmers in Mwanza region rejected agriculture due to loss, caused by pest attack on their farms, This is because they lack knowledge on pest management practices.
Impact: What is the impact of the work to date? Specify both the social and the environmental impact of your work
youth with agriculture has successfully managed to reach youth within 5 regions of Tanzania target on youth aged between 15-35 years old approximately to 85 youth mostly in rural areas of both gender and religion. By bringing new hope to some whom where not employed thus decided to employ them selves through agriculture, we have creating a network among them to share ideas, knowledge and experience for the purpose of increasing their productivity and sustainability, we have simplify their farm progresses by providing enough agricultural knowledge to them also provide solution for challenges which likely to face them example livestock husbandry and farm management. Youth with agriculture has managed to transform youths minds from local agricultural which involve bush burning, frequently cultivation on a same peace of land and cutting down of trees which enhance much on environmental degradation, to modern agricultural which consider much in environmental conservation.
Financial sustainability plan: How is this initiative financially supported? How will you ensure its financial sustainability long-term?
Project is supported through individual donations and grants from interested people in 80% and through its book sells in 20% in this start-up stage. The project has strategic plans to archive its sustainable financial model during its growing stage through increasing its books production, selling of agriculture implements and providing agriculture loans thus project will manage to pay its employees and other project expenses, therefore project will depend on its own earned income in 100% to insure its financial sustainability. we will later create young farmers supporting fund from its servings and sponsors will be accepted in whole project life time. lack enough capital is the major risk we face, so we aim to tackle it through increasing our products lines of better quality.
Unique value proposition: What makes your initiative innovative? How does your project differ from other organizations working in the same field?
There are many projects in this field. some are Mkulima mbunifu and green community. These projects give agricultural education and training to farmers . But these projects are not specific in which group of people their targeting in such a way they have successfully reach only people with agriculture interest. different to youth with agriculture, we have targeted only on youth this has successfully improve there farm operation and convince some to engage in agriculture.
Founding story: Share a story about the "Aha!" moment that sparked the beginning of this initiative.
Aha! Imani comes from a society with large number of youth who have nothing to do(unemployment) this lead in increasing a large number of crime activities such as theft, violence, early marriages, unplanned pregnant and drugs abuse . Aha! my society have more than 50% of children's and youth who didn't go to school this is because my society doesn't consider much in education, tolerable thing my society took a farmer as a poor person will they depend on agricultural, this is because many farmers practice agricultural in local manner due to lack of enough extension agents and capital .
I as one among few people who managed to get education (diploma in general agricultural) i realized its my duty to transform youths lives in Tanzanian societies, that's what enhanced me to start this project called YOUTH WITH AGRICULTURE aiming on decreasing unemployment to youth through agriculture
