It will use solar power to lower the salinity and improve the quality of water from the seas, thus providing safer water for domestic usage.

Problem: What problem is this initiative trying to address?

This initiative is trying to address the lack of a much sustainable water source in coastal areas. The saltwater coming from the seas cannot be use for domestic consumption. Thus, people residing in the nearby communities are still experiencing domestic water shortage.

Solution Summary: What is the proposed solution? What do you see as its most promising aspects for creating shared value?

The system provides a desalination mechanism which will the utilize solar power, to lower the salinity and generally improve the quality of seawater. The design will use engineering principles to convert the energy from the sun to a reaction that will desalinate the water into a much tolerable level.

Impact: What is the impact of the work to date? Specify both the social and the environmental impact of your work

Literatures had provide information on this but actually those were not brought and had contributed on sustainable development. It is more of a scientific work than a contribution to social development. In addition, the previous designs were just small-scale

Financial sustainability plan: How is this initiative financially supported? How will you ensure its financial sustainability long-term?

N/A

Unique value proposition: What makes your initiative innovative? How does your project differ from other organizations working in the same field?

I don't really know if there are orgnaizations pushing for this.

Founding story: Share a story about the "Aha!" moment that sparked the beginning of this initiative.

This was just a proposal on my undergraduate subject. Then, one of my brothers in the Youth Force PH tapped me. As an ambassador of Clean Water and Sanitation (SDG 6), I want to concretize this proposal and bring this project where it can benefit the people in my country.

Where did you hear about the Nestlé Creating Shared Value Prize?

  • Upon recommendation from others

With the matter of innovation on your technology is tangible and fruitful. Unfortunately about the concerns of financial affordability and the unique value of your enterprise , I guess it should be conducted on a thorough review.
