Problem: What problem is this initiative trying to address?

water scarcity and water logging in metro cities

Solution Summary: What is the proposed solution? What do you see as its most promising aspects for creating shared value?

If we make borewell besides the road, during the monsoon water will go through this borewell into the empty part of the soil, thus we can solve water logging problem and also increase the water table up for future use of water, residing surrounding area people. In Rajkot, Gujarat people using this technique in their houses, where during monsoon season the water from their houses roof is going directly into the borewell and the borewell get recharged for their water requirements during the summer season. I saw a serious Water logging in the underpasses and i got this idea to clear that water logging and harvesting the water for future use. This may save water as much as a big dam can. Implementation of this project can also solve the problem of traffic control. The cost of making one borewell is max. INR 20k only. As per my calculation max INR 2000k is required for whole city.

Impact: What is the impact of the work to date? Specify both the social and the environmental impact of your work

water table will come up. No scarcity of water will be seen. Water logging problem will be resolved. Traffic problems will be resolved.

Financial sustainability plan: How is this initiative financially supported? How will you ensure its financial sustainability long-term?

2. Govt. Grants
INR 20000 will be required for one borewell
For the whole city like Rajkot population of 20 lacks will be required max. 300 borewells are required to cover it completely.

Unique value proposition: What makes your initiative innovative? How does your project differ from other organizations working in the same field?

My project looks very simple to understand the purpose, very low budget and high yield multy purpose

Founding story: Share a story about the "Aha!" moment that sparked the beginning of this initiative.

This is my individual Idea. I am a teacher, teaching Biology in the school, participated more than 10 times in the state level science fair with my innovative ideas.

Your idea is very good but to make it possible, in stead of going for bore holes, go for porous concrete. We can collaborate on that, if you wish. I am using it for filter purpose. You can refer my entry: Conjunctive use of rain and ground water...
