1. Founding story: Share a story about the "Aha!" moment that led the founder(s) to get started or the story of how you saw the potential for this to succeed

I recognize several moments that determine this should be done. It was weekends of community work with youth groups when I was 15, in the evenings building furniture or fixing things at home with my father; it's comic Sundays and their influence on ideals. It's my nerdy side for reading and reading and then trying to create inventions. It's my graduation promise to get back what I learned. A moral debt to my family once I had opportunities my brothers couldn't enjoy. Are countless frustrations and set bask at work and the heavyweight of rightsizing and downsizing thousands of job positions. It's my thesis and promise to do the right thing.

2. The problem: What problem surrounding employability or financial capability are you helping to solve?

In Mexico, to create businesses you need the educational, financial and support networks. The ecosystem of entrepreneurship is closed, and tapping into it from outside main urban centers can be extra difficult. Socioeconomic conditions further exclude citizens from access to entrepreneurship, Mexico has the slowest upward mobility. 21.9 million Mexicans between 15 and 29 years old do not study or work, recent graduates suffer 40% unemployment

3. Your Solution: How are you planning to solve this problem? Share your specific approach.

1) Recruiting recent graduates and train them on future skills for them to create technology-based products and business ventures. 2) Select a group among the cohorts and send them as innovation facilitators across the country, so they could teach a set of tools to create innovative business models for entrepreneurs to be on low-income population centers. 3) Direct collaboration with universities, grant them with training, support networks and resources for in classroom activities and launching social impact projects

4. How are you innovating or using unique approaches to solving the problem?

iLab's methodology is solution-based. We focus on understanding problems and applying a series of tools, technology, and inclusive business open innovation to scale up. Using three layers, agent of change, the community scope and those able to influence, we are creating innovation ecosystems and resources on where this activities are not professionalize

5. Employability: how is your organization or project teaching people to develop the skills that they need to survive in the future job market?

Development of Innovation, designing new technologies that evolve in products and services. Full-time program that generates companies based on technology and intellectual property in 3 months. Knowledge services and skills, two weeks of face-to-face training to incorporate innovation into the business. Sessions covering segments of our methodologies by training in agile innovation methodologies for decision-making and implementation of social impact projects. Capacity building, development of innovation skills through the updating of content and materials for education professionals.

5a. Please describe which future-oriented skills your organization is focused on fostering and how you have measured / plan to measure progress

The pedagogical model is oriented to work on building: innovation analytical thinking, project-based learning, creativity and technology design, critical thinking and systemic problem-solving design, leadership, and social influence. All our programs work on the following process 1) Pre-work self-diagnosis and courses, 2) Experiential Workshops, 3) Social Impact project, 4) Global peer comparison analysis, 5) Knowledge transfer and monetization of the entrepreneurial initiative

6. Financial capability: how is your organization or project creating innovative solutions that arm people with ability to optimize their current and future financial health

Development of Innovation: the outcome is technology products and companies, to register intellectual property and launch high impact businesses Knowledge services and skills, the objectives are to validate a business opportunity and create innovation around its core job to be done. Out of it sustain economic activity and scale-up in a year base. Capacity building, increase proficiency on attendees, reaching out to their students and apply new capabilities on surrounding communities on social ventures.

6a. Please describe what aspect of financial capability your organization is focused on fostering and how you have measured / plan to measure progress.

Development of Innovation: Intellectual property rights granted on technology, public and private investment on it, the economy as a consequence of the inventions Knowledge services and skills: Legally constituted new businesses, economic progress and social mobility as a consequence of the initiative Capacity building: Social innovation projects, results as a consequence of intervening with the community

7. Marketplace: Who else is addressing the same problem? How does the proposed project differ from these approaches?

iLab has a clear mission of being not just a social impact accelerator but specifically focused on intellectual property. The design thinking aspect of iLab is unique in that Bootcamp participants learn to leverage technology to solve a social problem while taking into account the most appropriate tech-based solutions. iLab is also addressing social mobility. iLab promotes the idea that anyone can be a social entrepreneur by hosting a part-time program specifically focused on adults without higher education

8. Impact: How has your project made a difference so far?

Development of Innovation: 22 cohorts, 650 innovators graduated, +90 intellectual property rights granted on technology out of 170 companies Knowledge services and skills: 103 thousand graduates, +35 thousand new businesses active and legally constituted Capacity building, +1650 teachers trained, +150 thousand students reached. +15 thousand social projects initiated

9. Financial Sustainability Plan. Can you tell us about you plan to fund your project and how that plan will be sustainable in the short, medium, and long term?

Our scholarship programs will be funded by franchising the methodology so we could extend services to universities and markets abroad Mexico. We will increase our relationship with corporations by selling consultancy or educational services as well as collecting CRS initiatives. We are targeting our gross margin to be around 25% and increase it to 35% by 2022. Our operation margin could be negative by two years due to cash flow imbalances due to collection periods but becoming positive by 2022

Our advisory board is constituted by a Principal of investment firm and Managing Partner of a Family office in Mexico, a Partner of an international Investment Firm, the Senior Director of Strategic Initiatives at MIT, a Social Impact Consultant, a Director of a Social Mobility NGO. Our Staff is 12 people managing Culture, User Experience, Comunity Programs, Public Relations, Consultancy, and Business Flow. In addition, 18 allied business consultants and 172 innovation facilitators
