1. Founding story: Share a story about the "Aha!" moment that led the founder(s) to get started or the story of how you saw the potential for this to succeed

My Story as Student|At 18- year old, I wanted to go to University in a new city and started looking for an accommodation to feel like at home away from home. However, all the accommodation options were either too expensive or too impersonal. Eventually, I came across a unique accommodation that was matching everyone’s expectations. Conchita, a widowed woman with 3 children offered her spare room at home to students in their 20s and 30s who were looking for a home away from home. My Story as Home Owner|While I was completing my thesis in The Netherlands, my mother became unexpectedly a widow remaining lonely in a huge empty house. My Aha moment allowed me to help my mother by shifting Conchita's model from user to provider of the service.

2. The problem: What problem surrounding employability or financial capability are you helping to solve?

JinJan® tackles one of the hardest social challenges in the developed world, loneliness in elderly population and housing access in youth community. JinJan® builds a bridge across generations by connecting students and homeowners for designing new living spaces of dignity for both communities. The platform helps students to find an affordable accommodation while allows senior home owners to stay at their homes.

3. Your Solution: How are you planning to solve this problem? Share your specific approach.

JinJan® is the key to social accommodation. It serves as a service App through which homeowners can search for potential renters based on the kind of support they need and students will benefit on price reductions based on the time offered to their hosts. Our mission is to make city-living accessible for everyone with a cooperative model for mutual and social benefit. Our vision is to offer alternatives to the current real estate model in conflict between short-term profitability and long-term sustainability, by empowering our community to design new ways of living based on mutual support and commitment.
