Date You Started Your Project Started

Project Stage: Select the description below that best applies to your approach.

  • Scaling (expanding impact to many new places or in many new ways)

1. The Problem: What problem are you helping to solve?

Some students in schools (Mostly High School) have trouble learning in the same path as schools teach others. Students have their own creative way of learning, but schools condemn any other style that doesn't follow the status quo. This can avoid and destroy a child's potential of learning, because they will not enjoy any of the learning experiences, and end up forgetting the information years on.

2. Your Solution: How are you planning to solve this problem? Share your specific approach.

My virtual reality software "Techuaction", is an application that has an in-depth experience for students. It has many options for which type of learning skill or interest that you might have, or desire such as by watching, reading, listening, interacting, etc. These settings of learning can help kids see their potential in what they can do in the field of education. The system can check a student's strengths and weaknesses, so it'll decide whether to make the work more challenging, or manageable. Instead of punishing, pushing, and putting students down due to their failures in assignments, quizzes, or tests, they can see it more as a bigger potential to learn, and develop into productive citizens. My Techuation software can teach students many life-supporting skills that they will need for real-life situations such as finance, taxes, work ethics, home economics, cooking, cleaning, car mechanics, house improvements, and self-defense.

3. Using STEM as a force of good: Please specify how are you using STEM to solve for an environmental challenge you are passionate about.

Techucation can students learn about many STEM-related subjects, as they can also use real hands-on activities to help them immerse in a real-life environment experience.

4. Personal Journey: What’s the story behind why you decided to start this project?

I am a student, who has decent grades; a 3.0 student, but I really hate school, as the system feels so repetitive and non-interactive, and generally dull, so I thought it would be a great idea, to put education, into something that I enjoy myself.

5. Video (Keep it simple, a video made on a hand-held phone is great): Please upload a 1-minute video to YouTube that answers the following “I am stepping up to be a Changemaker because...”

I do not have a Youtube account, so I am unfortunately unable to upload a video to youtube. I apologize.

6. Please highlight the key activities you have carried out to bring your project to life.

I'm still in the brainstorming section, so I have not started on anything visual, such as designs, or menus, but I've wrote a list of classes, subjects, and grading systems

7. The X Factor: What is different about your project compared to other programs or solutions already out there?

Most of these Vr education applications, don't have a full set of subjects, as most of them only, retain to STEM-related classes. My product, on the other hand, will cater to almost any subject, there ever was.

8. Impact: In the last three months, please detail the impact your project has made?

Right now, I'm still in the brainstorming section. Nothing has been made yet, but with the right amount of funding, I can make the process much easier.

9. What’s Next: What are your ideas for taking your project to the next level?

If we get enough support, money, and resources, we will be able to use my headsets all around the world.

10. Please share how you have influenced other young people to get involved in your project and/or care about environmental sustainability.

I've talked with other students who have also disliked school, and wish there was a change in the system. They talked about many flaws that the education system has, even creative ideas that would definitely help change the system.

11. Please share ideas of how you can partner with other changemakers to make a difference?

I can go to many education and schooling support centers to help donate, and work with me, to make this project happen.

12. How would you engage others who have never heard about your project to get their buy-in?

I would persuade those that our product can improve your education experience, as it is much more informative and entertaining than regular school.

13. Finances: If applicable, have you mobilized any of the following resources so far?

  • Donations over $10k

How did you hear about this challenge?

  • Email

The idea of this project is good . Most definitely our education system doesn't account for all the people and something has to be done. As you are on the early stages of this project you should consider if this system is going to be complementary to the education system we have now or if it will be apart. If you are considering for it to be apart, you should deep dive into the requirements needed to get a diploma. Will people have to pay for this system or are you planning for the schools to give this as an option? Just some thoughts, keep on the good work!
