Date You Started Your Project Started

Project Stage: Select the description below that best applies to your approach.

  • Growth (have moved past the very first activities; working towards the next level of expansion)

3. Using STEM as a force of good: Please specify how are you using STEM to solve for an environmental challenge you are passionate about.

I am using gadgets and my learning mindset to create and improve on the devices that I am making

4. Personal Journey: What’s the story behind why you decided to start this project?

I was watching a documentary on blindness when I came up with the idea to make a device that would assist the blind. I kept on thinking of the solutions when I came up with a plausible answer to help carry out my solution.

6. Please highlight the key activities you have carried out to bring your project to life.

I had done some online shopping to get the resources I needed. I also did lots of research to see what problem I wanted to solve and how I could solve it. I had trained myself in coding and in assembly of electronic devices.

7. The X Factor: What is different about your project compared to other programs or solutions already out there?

My project is an original idea that I had genuinely executed. It is a tangible electronic object coded and designed by me to help others around me, especially the physically challenged.

8. Impact: In the last three months, please detail the impact your project has made?

The project hasn't reached levels of public testing.

9. What’s Next: What are your ideas for taking your project to the next level?

I plan to compete in several science fairs to increase awareness of my project. I will also start a GoFundMe so that I can pursue this project with more resources.

10. Please share how you have influenced other young people to get involved in your project and/or care about environmental sustainability.

I made these glasses with the intention of helping others. That inspired others in my community to try to do activities in ways that could help other people.

11. Please share ideas of how you can partner with other changemakers to make a difference?

I can partner with other changemakers to have ideas on how my project can help the others. Thye can help me in the technological aspect if they are good in tech as well.

12. How would you engage others who have never heard about your project to get their buy-in?

I would try to make a nice visual presentation and impress them with a demonstration of the glasses. My speaking skills would greatly assist me in selling the product.

13. Finances: If applicable, have you mobilized any of the following resources so far?

  • Family support

How did you hear about this challenge?

  • Word of mouth
