Start-Up (first few activities have happened)
1. Personal Journey: What’s the story behind why you decided to start this project? NOTE: All applications must include a 1 minute video that answers: “I am stepping up to make change because..."
I was a substitute teacher in the school system. Every day I would have a third and I would teach the class about college instead, of letting them be on the phone and put the head down. And teaching that class I found out these kids didn't know about Financial Aid Federal School Assistance (FAFSA). Later on I found out the reason why, which I would later explain. Aladdin was waiting to their junior seeing year to solve a lot of these problems that needed to be solved their ninth grade or tenth grade year. Two many students did not know how to write a paper and in college that's the main thing writing papers. So some of these things are the main reasons why I started my company, Our Children's Children LLC. My video is just not loading I tried several times. But, I love what I do and I'm going to reach more kids.
2. The Problem: What problem are you helping to solve?
I'm contributing to solving the generation curse. I am helping the single parent who works 16 to 12 hour shifts. Who don't really have time to explain the steps to college or help their kids who don't know what they want to do with their lives. The single parents who have multiple kids can't focus on one. I'm helping those parents who didn't go to college and their parents then go to college so, how can they teach something they don't know.
3. Your Solution: How are you planning to solve this problem? Share your specific approach.
I plan on establishing Partnerships all over the world if I can. So, that way whatever I don't offer I can send my students to them and they can help them. I will meet the student where ever they are on their educational level then build them up. My students will be learning to start things early, like studying for whatever material need to know instead ofwaiting late. My company will break it down on how to get into college, what goes on behind the scenes of college, and how to survive the aftermath of college. You see my methods my students will be ready and able to tackle almost anything that the college life throws at them.
4. Example: Please walk us through a specific example of what happens when a person or group gets involved with your project.
When I introduced myself to the Juvenile Justice Youth Center I met with the director first. I wanted to let her know everything I offer so I don't know what she's interested in. Once I got that out the way I wanted to know what educational level her group was on. That way I can put what I have together and be able to present to the group what level they were on and what I have. For example ,if the director said they're on the level where they need to know how to get into college. I have a session for that or right now they're struggling with their writing I have a lesson for that. This is the pathway I use for every organization I meet up with they tell me their knees I tell them this is what I offer and we come in a meeting ground.
5. The X Factor: What is different about your project compared to other programs or solutions already out there?
In my research I found that my competitors don't focus on the low GPA students. I focused on the 1.2 through the 4.0 students. I do anything from vision board parties to college tours. In the middle of all of that I make sure that my parents stay educated with knowing how does education system works. I've also fought for a student IEP. In my research of my competitors I haven't seen no other like me they focus on Ivy League schools and everything is not going to get into an ivy league but they can with focus and hard work.
6. Impact: How has your project made a difference so far?
I have three students so far. Two of my students have internships. The other one is thinking about the military. I went through three of them will be going on this College Tour I have coming in June. I had one she was not doing so good in English when I first met her. She took her English exam this year and she Master it. So, I would say so far so good that I have made an impact on the youth.
7. What’s Next: What are your ideas for taking your project to the next level?
For my company I would like it to be on a broader bigger scale. I would like to have more Partnerships so the ones who don't want to go to college what have other places to go. So, far already have job 1, beauty shops, and barber shops on board. I also, have nursing homes for my interns. So, far as I mentioned earlier I have to recline but I would like to expand the clientele.
8. Future Support: What are the resources needed to make your vision a reality?
To make my vision a reality I would like more support from schools. Schools are already overworked when having one or two counselors and the children out number to counselors. That partnership really help you also look good when I go out to other places like, youth centers and churches. Get my website up so more people can fine me.

10. Ripple Effect: Please share some ideas of how you could partner with other changemakers or involve other young people as leaders in making a difference.
I'm definitely interested in learning about other people approaches. But I had got people outside of my family that wasn't family involved in my business to trust me with their kids. I had got them to trust me t that I was qualified. I gave a presentation to the parents first then that's how I got the kids. Then I had a pop up. Usually the teenagers I have go tell their parents in the parents just pay for it.
