I was a child in foster care i had mean foster parents i would get locked out i ended up getting shot 4 times at 20 years old foster care kickes me out once my age became 21 to be homless jobless no help insurance food clothing nothing foster care is supposed to be a replacement ane equivalent to parents and honestly its not i eant a community and place to feel safe talk get help sometime not even your worker or agency care your just a check

2. Your Solution: How are you planning to solve this problem? Share your specific approach.

I have a partnership eith childrens aid society I also partner with salvation army and good will to get clothes and resources i started a avrocery donation service and i alsp cook plates and give them out i am currently speaking to lawyers from legal aid society i want to find safe havens for these kids and teens struggling its hard in fostwr care and to not feel alone is hard i want to give people a safe space to be able to release problem anger and exspress creativiry i want to allow people to get help with school work and fill out job applications to even clorhing for the interview i have some makeup artists and hairdressers who are whilling to help and come abooard i know once i agged out of foster care i had to find a way to eat and survive i has no money for soap lotian sanitary napkens nothing i found a place could pay rent had to do one shot deals i called my agency cs no one could help me due to age i was our on the sreet got shot 4 times i dont want no one to feel that pain i had foster parents that didnt let me eat or shower by me clothes nothing foster care is hard me and my team are trying to end the cycle and make the future people and community of this world

3. Personal Journey: What’s the story behind why you decided to start this project?

Like i said i was im foster care from 9 till i aged when it was time for me to look about apartments and appla which is what they call the goal of independent living and your goal is no longer to be returned to parents my workers were changed so much no one got anything done nptging for my housing discharge grants or benifits nothing i called workers and acs i called 311 made complaints all anyone told me was your over 21 we cant help you i was homless stunk i got shot 4 time i got a bullet still inside a fake vein mesh holding my artery closed i have trouble walking standing somedays i didnt have not a passport , idnothing foster care did not prepare me for life , i made it trough it was hard a first and i found some friends who didnt give up and i want kids to have that fondation and skills during there whole process so they can be 100% ready for life on there own in the real word

5. Example: Please walk us through a specific example of what happens when a person or group gets involved with your project.

So lets say a person has one pair of shoes no jacket in need of a scarf they fill out a form with detail info and we send it to them or give them a pickup location if they need help with medical i have a list of free clinics and i work with the children's aid society clinic the gives vaccinations contraceptives and info in reguards to hippa law stds/sits lbgqt rights , we help with interview skills and applications for jobs and school i have a person that works in cuny school system to help with finacial aid and housing durning college i work with acia network and help apply cor affordable housing they can get toletries such as pads, lotion, soap, tooth brush ,tooth paste even tissue rolls we have people that are studying to be therapist in app and also in person apponinments to help kids procces living situations,to know that with my program they have a chance to make it and succeed

6. The X Factor: What is different about your project compared to other programs or solutions already out there?

The diffrence is im fresh out of foster care and found all theses ways a resourseces that no one tought me or told me when i was in foster care i wish i had help or a feeling or guidence and i didnt it was hard i wanted to kill myself multiple times as a kid growing up with certian abuse that the foster homes would give me and no one not even the agency would help me if i had a safe place to go or to speak to people i probably wouldnt have gotten shot
