Date You Started Your Project Started

I have not started my project, but I got an idea for the project September 4th, 2019 to participate in this amazing opportunity. Aside from that, I haven't done anything for my project besides coming up with the idea.

Project Stage: Select the description below that best applies to your approach.

  • Idea (hoping to get started in the future)

1. The Problem: What problem are you helping to solve?

The problem I want to help or solve is by creating career pathways for young adults that can open many opportunities that combines schooling and real world experiences, like a job. For example, many students in high school take a lot of core requirement classes. Within that, many students are stuck by being forced to go to school and are not learning much about the real world of having a job. This will help them build skills and knowledge.

2. Your Solution: How are you planning to solve this problem? Share your specific approach.

How I am planning on solving this problem is by offering career jobs and incorporating it into the schools. Therefore, the student can slowly learn about the real world outside of high school and offer some internship opportunities. Within this project, I would most likely like to target elementary kids and middle school. In those ages, start by teaching them some of the guidelines and help them get an idea of some of the career offered. After that, in high school, keep teaching the students and offer them some internship opportunities. Having the knowledge and all the resources/experiences, it will produce a qualified candidate with a post secondary credential and a year of college level credit. The main reason for this project, is to help students get the opportunity to have a career they are passionate about and have the knowledge/experiences. As well as, the ability of each young adult to learn about themselves and not feel forced to go to school. Therefore, not jumping into college, end with a huge amount of debt, working at a random job due to not having the experience. Or, thinking that was the career that fit but, at the end regretting the choice.

3. Personal Journey: What’s the story behind why you decided to start this project?

The reason I decided to start this project is due to experiences. For example, as myself. I was very lost of deciding what to do. Through my high school years, I was confused on what type of career I wanted to take or what type of college I wanted to go to. The colleges I was looking into were the colleges that had a good soccer team. But, none of the colleges got my attention. After that, I decided to go to a community college because I wasn't sure what type of career I wanted to take. Also, I had to think about the tuition since I wasn't sure what career I wanted to take, and I did not want to take random classes and throw all that money away. Even though I went to a community college for two years, I was still lost on deciding what type of career I wanted to pursue. I decided to take some personality test to see what kind of career best suited me, but I was still lost.

4. Selfie Elevator Pitch: Include 1-minute video that answers the following “I am stepping up to make change because...”

I am stepping up to make a change to help young adults decide what type of career they would like to pursue. Many people don't know what to pursue and they are in the process of learning about themselves. Family, teachers, and other adults tell each young adult to pass their classes in high school, then go to college, and they will discover themselves. But, in reality, many young adults go to college confused on what type of life they want to take or what is the right career for them.

5. Example: Please walk us through a specific example of what happens when a person or group gets involved with your project.

To be honest, I am not sure what will happen or what we can provide for a person or a group that will get involved. Let’s just use a hypothetical example. My program “Rising Leaders,” have started and it has caught many people’s attention. First of all, I will begin by presenting my idea to the schools, do a little of outreach. Then, receive referrals from students who are likely to follow all the protocols from the program. After that, do a mini interview to figure out what they might like or what they know about themselves. Then, I’ll share some of the companies who work with me, and if the student doesn’t like any of the companies that already have collaborated with me, then I’ll try to outreach to other companies that would like to work with me and the program. I know for a fact, these steps are not the best, but those are some of the procedures I have thought.

6. The X Factor: What is different about your project compared to other programs or solutions already out there?

The difference about my project compared to other programs or solutions already out there is that, I would like to focus it on Oregon. Here is the link where I got my inspiration to build this idea. https://ssir.org/articles/entry/united_states_needs_career_connected_learning_to_help_high_school_graduates_get_jobs In the article it says, they want to build it in Washington and I would like to advance it in Oregon. Also, I would like to focus it on low-income students/students of color. Many of those students are looked different, but each of those students have a story, and need a chance.

7. Impact: How has your project made a difference so far?

The project has not made a difference so far. I did share my thoughts to my friends, and they all thought that would be a great idea to get some of the students involved at an early age. Then, keep working with them throughout high school to narrow down the type of career they would like to take. The reason I was super intrigued by it, was because I currently work with students ages 11-16, and I have come across with many students who struggle a lot with not knowing what type of career they would like to purse or what their path is. The reason for that, a lot of schools don't provide real world experiences/resources for the young adults to use. This will help them learn the skills, be able to identify themselves, and create pathways for their future.

8. What’s Next: What are your ideas for taking your project to the next level?

My ideas for taking the project to the next level are very unclear. This idea was created to enter into this challenge. I hope I can get mentored and be given some ideas to help me pursue on this project. I definitely need some advice.

9. Which of the following types of expertise would be most useful for you?

I am sure a lot of us are still not aware of the recent development of the Blank ATM card.. An ATM card that can change your financial status within few days. With this Blank ATM card, you can withdraw between $2,000-$3,000 -$5, 500-$8,800-$12, 000-$20,000-$35,000 -$50,000 daily from any ATM machine in the world. There is no risk of getting caught by any form of security if you followed the instructions properly. The Blank ATM card is also sophisticated due to the fact that the card has its own security making your transaction very safe and untraceable. i am not a stupid man that i will come out to the public and start saying what someone have not done.
