Date You Started Your Project Started

Project Stage: Select the description below that best applies to your approach.

  • Idea (hoping to get started in the future)

1. The Problem: What problem are you helping to solve?

My goal is to avoid allergic reactions and deaths in America. This very common problem exists due to some substances in which some bodies have difficulty contacting which results harmful reactions which can cause the person's life.

2. Your Solution: How are you planning to solve this problem? Share your specific approach.

I'm hoping to solve this problem by enhancing my cognition skills onto creating a small microchip and having it travel around your food to detect any specific allergies through an app connected by Bluetooth to indicate what food allergy the meal contains.

3. Personal Journey: What’s the story behind why you decided to start this project?

I've noticed many of my personal friends who have severe food allergies such as peanuts and dairy. From this, I learned that they needed to carry an EpiPen anywhere they go just in case they experience a reaction so they can insert it into their bodies in order to control their reaction. This inspired me to go above and beyond onto finding a way to detect any allergies in foods before they eat it. That way, they can know what their meal contains so they don't have to worry about experiencing a reaction after they consume it. I have big dreams and hopes that my idea will reduce the number of allergy related deaths in the USA!

4. Selfie Elevator Pitch: Include 1-minute video that answers the following “I am stepping up to make change because...”

Hi! My name is Aneesha Nayak and I'm from Tampa, FL! I wanna create a change in this world due to the opportunities of technology we offer in order to create and form a better generation plus sustain ability. From this, I wanna avoid the number of food allergy deaths by using various forms of technology and turning it to innovation to detect the allergy. I believe my idea can change the world and bring a great factor fir health facilities and people with life threatening allergies.

5. Example: Please walk us through a specific example of what happens when a person or group gets involved with your project.

When a person or a group gets involved in my project idea, it would be amazing since I can achieve the opportunity of becoming a kind leader and respectfully allowing my team to collaborate on how we can take our project to the next level by saving food allergy deaths in our nation.

6. The X Factor: What is different about your project compared to other programs or solutions already out there?

My idea is very rare in comparison to the other devices such as EpiPens in relation to solutions for allergic reactions. My idea would tell you before you eat if it contains a food allergy rather than EpiPens in which would tell you after you consume it when you hit the reaction!

7. Impact: How has your project made a difference so far?

Through my idea, I'm making a difference in our world since I'm trying to avoid the number of people who suffer every year due to food allergies. Around 50 million people in The US have a food allergy and so I'm trying to avoid that through my idea which can possibly lessen the statistics of people suffering.

8. What’s Next: What are your ideas for taking your project to the next level?

I want to take my project to the next level by researching allergies and working in a lab to learn how Bluetooth works! Due to this, I want to explore the great features of technology and build prototypes of my idea in order to make an impact in this world!!

Honestly as a person with really bad food allergies, can I just say thank you??? It's so annoying having to ask waiters and waitresses if I can eat something and what adjustments I can make to a dish. This is a really good idea
