Project Stage: Select the description below that best applies to your approach.
Growth (have moved past the very first activities; working towards the next level of expansion)
1. The Problem: What problem are you helping to solve?
The problem I’m helping to solve is the environmental effects our vehicles are causing on our world and the financial issues pressed on drivers caused by high gas prices. America’s vehicle’s account for a third of America’s air pollution. The problem is still around because cars causing these issues are creating harmful gases into our world and electric cars have proven to be costly for many drivers.
2. Your Solution: How are you planning to solve this problem? Share your specific approach.
I'm planning to solve this problem by creating a vehicle that’ll run strictly on wind which'll turn 37 turbines installed within a car. These turbines will generate electricity powering a battery which'll simultaneously power the car.The driver won't be using fossil fuels or be expelling noxious gases. This way our fossil fuels will last longer and less pollution will occupy our atmosphere. Also pedestrians and plants won't be exposed to toxic gases.Having my research confirmed by engineers and professors across Central Ohio,I plan to organize a team of engineers and physicists to help build my first prototype. After building and testing my first
prototype ,I hope to began mass production. Because these vehicles will cost less to build and my goal is to make eco-friendly cars affordable, I plan to sell them at inexpensive prices to make accessing alternative energy cars affordable and accessible for all drivers. After analyzing the impact of my project,I wish to present to major manufacturers and automakers in order to partner and cooperate to manufacture their vehicles into our eco-friendly systems so that we can promote an eco-friendly car industry all around the world.
3. Personal Journey: What’s the story behind why you decided to start this project?
My changemaking journey has a lot to do with my love for living creatures and my curiosity for the preservation of life.I never realized how bad some of my actions can be to the world especially as I used to pay attention to the regular trucks that me and my father would drive behind on my way to school in middle school.I would always notice a huge gray cloud out of the truck-though all I knew was that it smelled awful. So, I did some research into it and learned that emissions from such vehicles were harmful to the Earth. I wondered if regular cars were also harmful-yes they were.I wanted to find a way to stop this.At the same time, my parents-being immigrant parents, were not in the best financial circumstances so paying gas was a burden. This led me to think of how I can make gas prices lower. Both of these issues in my childhood with my curiosity in STEM inspired me to find a solution.
4. Selfie Elevator Pitch: Include 1-minute video that answers the following “I am stepping up to make change because...”
5. Example: Please walk us through a specific example of what happens when a person or group gets involved with your project.
Mom with kids, works from a long drive from home, and drives a car that runs on gas.She drops her kids to school and drives to work.Coming home, she realizes her tank is nearly empty. With only so much money in her wallet, she notices that she can only spend so little on gas to ensure that her kids have something to eat. Stressed at home, she looks up affordable ways to commute.Public transit costs less, but doesn’t reach her destinations for them to get to work and school on time.Electric cars will let her save a lot of money to power her car,but it initially costs too much for her.The next day,as she presses on her gas pedal she witnesses tailpipe emissions blowing in pedestrian's faces as nearby plants suffer from the toxic gas. With my idea, she wouldn’t have to worry about her tank going empty,be stressed, harm pedestrians or the environment, and would be able to afford an eco-friendly car
6. The X Factor: What is different about your project compared to other programs or solutions already out there?
Hybrid electric cars are slightly efficient because the driver doesn’t have to visit the gas station as much, but they are still harming the environment by using gas and increasing the rate of depletion of our fossil fuels. We have invented pure electric cars. These cars are extremely efficient because they do not harm our environment or increase the rate of depletion of fossil fuels. But,they are considerably costly with electric cars costing significantly more.My solution is different because it doesn’t use fossil fuels, is affordable, and makes our environment a greener place.
7. Impact: How has your project made a difference so far?
We have presented this concept to over 100 professors, engineers, Investors, physicists, and teachers. With my project initiated the following benefits will affect the world; influence the movement towards an eco-friendly car industry
,protect animals and marine organisms from toxicity, slow down the rise of global warming, fossil fuels will last longer, reduce the # of wildfire occurrences, deaths, and destruction, deter the # of droughts, heatwaves, and hurricanes expected to happen, reduce the rising of sea levels, allow the Arctic Ocean to stay frozen longer, expel tailpipe emissions, drivers won’t have to pay for gas/electricity, drivers will save $500-$4000 yearly, drivers will save about 4 hours of time yearly, drivers will help keep the environment a greener place , allow drivers to experience using an electric car in an affordable and enjoyable manner.
8. What’s Next: What are your ideas for taking your project to the next level?
The next steps to take is to first have a much larger prototype, closer to the size of an actual vehicle, built that can provide analytical data to measure the efficiency of the concept of various designs. To partner with universities or labs to further test the efficiency and different designs to be implemented. To increase fundings with local communities that greatly support a cleaner environment to get this concept of f of the ground. To work with global climate change rallies to use vehicles that are clean and contain this concept. To sit and speak with local government officials to push for stricter regulations on pollutions caused by vehicles.Final step to meet with major manufacturers and negotiate them to switch to our cleaner concept.
