1. Personal Journey: What’s the story behind why you decided to start this project? NOTE: All applications must include a 1 minute video that answers: “I am stepping up to make change because..."
As a young member of this generation, I have noticed a rapid decline in motivational influence within our young generation. Many young minds are bombarded with useless information through technology. Now, I am in no way saying technology shouldn’t be an everyday item in an individuals life, but I am saying that it shouldn’t be a necessity. I do feel, however, that the internet today has forced false idealizations that many individuals of our generation look up to. The minds of our world are becoming corrupt through these idealistic qualities. Communication is purely through a screen. Looks are top priority. Life is no longer genuine but edited. I am striving to find the reality of a blinded world. This is not to say “get rid of technology”, but to improve it to inspire our world. Many have inspired us on media, but are easily forgotten. We need Inspiration that will stick!
2. The Problem: What problem are you helping to solve?
I am tired of seeing our generation forget what realism is. I believe we need to stand up and support our world and with technology we have so much power. Communication is as easy as ever. Many are suffering around the world, wether it is mentally, phiscally, financially, etc. and we need to fix it. Our generation needs to use technology to its advantage, as we have come so far to achieve it.
3. Your Solution: How are you planning to solve this problem? Share your specific approach.
I believe we need to use technology as a motivational tool rather than an escape from reality. I want to bring the fullness of the world, it’s problems and advantages to minds around our nation. I cannot stand by and see only one group receive help when many around the world need some as well. I believe we can try to use technology to it’s adantage by creating a message within larger areas of media and branch out to the direct nation. Possibly an app that focuses on contributing to others lives, not just financially but with any aspect they need cared for. We can connect and motivate our generation to change lives all around the world. Like a social media app but to spread wellness. Our generation is expreancing a new wave of unconnection when we are as connected as ever. We have lost touch with the true problems of the world, yet we have the power to change it. If we can help one life, they are able to help another.
4. Example: Please walk us through a specific example of what happens when a person or group gets involved with your project.
Using a platform to connect with others in order to understand and help one another will allow individuals of our world to better humanity one step at a time. For example, this platform will give people access to help someone financially if in need, mentally if needing emotional support, etc. Most of all this would become an area of motivation. Say someone needs help directionally on what to pursue in the future, but doesn’t know what. They can gain information from people in that field, their insight on work, and how they formed that life. With this insight, they can decide on their future career. Or if someone needs financial help, people who are willing to help can contact them, connect, and see whether or not they are willing to provide stability. This is planning to inform and help lives around the world!
5. The X Factor: What is different about your project compared to other programs or solutions already out there?
This form of media will not be based off of an entertainment platform, but through interaction of people. It will not just focus on one problem but all problems that people face. Through this, our generation will form an elightment of what our world truly is. I want this area of the world to bring out the best in people, cause we need to create untity with our nation. The best place is to start with media because it is currently the most “populated” area. I am hoping this motivates people to understand the lives of others and become inspired to help/change each other for the better.
6. Impact: How has your project made a difference so far?
I hope this project inspires people to open their eyes and realize that they truly do have a large impact on the world and that technology can be used to change lives. The main goal is for individuals to understand the lives of others around the world personally, not just through stories or statistics. We need to change the image of lives around the world and media is the way to start!
7. What’s Next: What are your ideas for taking your project to the next level?
Sharing the project and campaigning it to as many as possible to gain profits to support and start the production of the platform.
8. Future Support: What are the resources needed to make your vision a reality?
As I am involved in an media arts school, I have access to scholars with similar ideas and ways to start it up. Many are also knowlegable within platform designing. Spreading the world through mainstream media would also be a large step forward if it’s spread enough.
9. Finances: If applicable, have you mobilized any of the following resources so far?
10. Ripple Effect: Please share some ideas of how you could partner with other changemakers or involve other young people as leaders in making a difference.
I’ve seen many ideas on this website about helping others. Obviously, working with individuals such as them and incoperating my ideas into their work would be extreamly beneficial to our projects.
