Eligibility: Are you employed by T-Mobile or related to an employee of T-Mobile?

  • No

Eligibility: Date of Birth

2-13-00 / 02-02-2002

Where are you located:

Illinois: Chicago ( 60624 ) is where our main production house will be held. Los Angles, New York City and St. Louis are the locations of our Creators that Care Summits. We hope that our content and free valuable resources are able to draw attention from people from all over the world.

Date Started

Creators that Care grew out of the need for a digital space that is inclusive of marginalized creators (youth in particular) and their allies to be supported by brands and organizations for having an impact (economic, cultural, and social). We have noticed the lack of value for creators (especially young and POC) and the inequities when compared to their white men/boy counterparts. This project was officially started on 1/27/2018.

Project Stage: Select the description below that best applies to your approach.

  • Start-Up (first few activities have happened)

2. The Problem: What problem are you helping to solve?

Creators that Care seeks out to address the lack of representation of youth (of color) in the digital media market. By being inclusive of marginalized communities we’ll be able to bring a new sense of improvement to these communities lives by giving resources around social good and change. Through our community platform, we’ll be able to connect influencers and brands with key Creators whose voices are not able to be heard.

3. Your Solution: How are you planning to solve this problem? Share your specific approach.

Creators that Care seeks out to address this problem by building a connection with communities that are usually outcasted from the online digital media space. We hope that we can build a community in the following ways 1. Provide Free & Valuable About Social Good and Change 2. Build a Bridge from Influencers to Marginalized Communities 3. Provide Resources (Giveaways, Curriculum, Gear...) to Our Community Members 4. Build Connections with Brands to get Creators whose voices we don't hear the chance to be heard. 5. Using our community platform to give light to Creator's work 6. Building a Bridge from Online Conversations to Offline Action. (Please view the attached pitch for a more detailed solution plan)

4. Example: Please walk us through a specific example of what happens when a person or group gets involved with your project.

Creators that Care is a collective of creators (artist, activist, entrepreneurs) who care about changing the world. When someone gets involved with Creators that Care they have a few options. They can join the editorial staff to help produce content, resources, and events for our most vulnerable communities (some positions will be paid). They can also submit their own content to be published on our platforms for community review as long as it passes our community norms review. Lastly, they can volunteer their time and resources to support communities that usually dont have the chance to connect with influencers or brands. Throughout our whole plateform we plan of giving free resources (cameras, mentoring, clothes, branded gear....) to help our community of creators achieve even more success. (Please view the attached pitch for more detailed strategy plan)

5. The X Factor: What is different about your project compared to other programs or solutions already out there?

Creators that Care is a unique project for the fact that we are online based. As the proliferation of social media continues to grow, we saw a gap in the market addressing the lack of representation of young people of color. Many different organizations create content and give free gear but most don't allow for submissions. How are we going to change the world if we don't listen to the most vulnerable? Also our project is actively seeing how do we connect with people offline. We believe that change can be started online but has to be finshed on the ground level. We're prepared to do both. <3

6. Impact: How has your project made a difference so far?

Creators that Care has made an impact even though we aren't officially up and running . We have taken meetings with many high-level influencers who want to produce content (one of which is Chance the Rapper and his team). We also have interest by some major tech brands to help support this project.

9. Finances: If applicable, have you mobilized any of the following resources so far?

  • Friend support
  • Family support
  • Mentors/advisors
  • Donations between $100-$1k

Help Us Support Diversity! Part 1 [optional] Which of the following categories do you identify with?

This is an amazing project and I would love to see some of the work that Creators that Care is going to put out into the world. I’m sure that this project plans to make a lot of social impact and I’m curious as to how the organization plans to track that impact.

Hi thank u for you love and support. We will track our impact via the $ we will raise for schools and orgs and well as how many successful brand deals we create.

This is a very great idea especially for organizations like mine trying to build. I wish to converse with you in this more, I have been going nuts because I have the Idea, and will but I just don't have my solution, well I do but don't. I want to set up a actual clinical rehabilitation facility but our (disabled warriors) civilians & veterans alike would actually want to come.

Cool idea! Definitely think there could be some synergy between your venture and Threading Twine . Best of luck in the future!

As a minority myself who is oftentimes confused and frustrated by the lack of cultural representation in media, I think this is a really great idea! Congratulations on meeting with Chance the Rapper and getting him involved! Check out our team’s project, Cocoon, where we improve teenage well-being by encouraging teens to go outside and be with nature. We’d love to hear your thoughts!
