Project Stage: Select the description below that best applies to your approach.

  • Growth (have moved past the very first activities; working towards the next level of expansion)

1. Personal Journey: What’s the story behind why you decided to start this project? NOTE: All applications must include a 1 minute video that answers: “I am stepping up to make change because..."

I started PVO4K to show that there is a brighter side to any situation no matter what the circumstance. PVO4K started as PostiveVibesOnly which began as quotes being posted over social media to help spread a positive attitude. After seeing the impact on others I realized that I truly was helping others that were looking for a positive vibe. We all are fighting these internal battles looking for positivity and PVO4K and PositiveVibesOnly is my way of making a positive impact. PVO4K is PositiveVibesOnly in the clearest quality possible. 4K is such a clear quality so why not make it a positive one. This is positive attitude so clear that you can step into it. PVO4K changes your PERSPECTIVE to show a positive side to any situation and to embrace the flaws people “have”. I am stepping up to help others by spreading a positive mindset with self-motivation to help them grow to empower others.

2. The Problem: What problem are you helping to solve?

People face daily struggles and with spreading positive vibes people can overcome all of that. This movement is to help others going through things that I deal with like: Tourette’s, Depression, Anxiety, Loss, and struggle. These battles take over people’s minds and lead to a negative POV. People are thrown into these categories and restrains them from their full potential. PVO4K puts a positive spin to any flaws by adding a positive perspective.

3. Your Solution: How are you planning to solve this problem? Share your specific approach.

PVO4K is to show the world with a positive attitude you can overcome anything. I plan to start a daily affirmation app. This will have different positive vibes each day as a reminder to face the day with a positive attitude. PVO4K will be starting a group called Flawless. This group is to show no matter what background, situation or flaw, that you are flawless and can make a positive impact. This will be support to help make a positive impact in any community and on an individual level to help with any type of mentoring they need. PVO4K will spread positive thinking to kids who strive to reach their version of success. PVO4K would provide school supplies, books, devices, and anything to help a positive impact so they can step into their potential along with start a scholarship that would give to kids who excel the positive mindset. I want to invest in their future and show that you don’t need to sit back but can step into positive potential. After the growth of hundreds of people that have made an impact I will add events like: summer camps, community clean ups, various ways to volunteer. With these events we can train and teach others to motivate and spread positivity to others.

4. Example: Please walk us through a specific example of what happens when a person or group gets involved with your project.

People that get involved with PVO4K will be motivated and learn to change their perspective to a more positive attitude. Once involved you will be part of the PositiveVibesOnly “family” or even part of “Flawless”. These “family” members not only support one another but also gives them the tools on how to motivate and spread positivity. By helping with PVO4K we will help communities and find any way to help and make a positive impact. PVO4K acts as a source of guidance to others going through any struggle and helps to give a more positive perspective to their situation.

5. The X Factor: What is different about your project compared to other programs or solutions already out there?

I have struggled and have continued to grow through my own personal experiences. I have Tourette’s, deal with anxiety and depression disorders. Through these I am able to speak about my experiences with the positive outcome that I have and have had. I feel that others show you how to change your perspective but PVO4K gives you the ability to step into a more positive reality.

6. Impact: How has your project made a difference so far?

I have begun to help others by spreading positivity by posting “positive vibes” on Instagram through #PositiveVibesOnly and #PVO4K. I have created a motivation minute that I post once a week online for others to view and hear a positive message to share with others through my own personal struggles by helping relate to them. I have #PositiveVibesOnly bracelets that I pass out to people as a challenge to help them in a struggle they may be going through. I am also working on bringing PVO4K off social media and am starting a group called “Flawless” to help motive others to embrace their flaws and struggles.

7. What’s Next: What are your ideas for taking your project to the next level?

As a next step I plan to help others through a more personal way. I hope to get in touch with people and continue my group “Flawless” to spread the message that YOU are flawless no matter what background, difference, or struggle. I plan to grow larger and larger to spread a loving positive message to get in touch with as many people as possible. I plan to start a daily affirmation app with the help of T-Mobile for guidance on growing a lager online platform and help to reach more people. I hope to start summer events such as 5k’s, summer camps, community clean ups, volunteering, and anyway to get out and spread a positive message such as PositiveVibesOnly.

8. Future Support: What are the resources needed to make your vision a reality?

To make this a reality I would like guidance in creating a plan with support on the specific platforms mentioned above. I ask for resources to help guide me in the right direction with knowledge on the specific areas of need. An example would be guidance on how to create the app and streamline the process. I would ask for brainstorming sessions with guidance on how to reach more people that are in need with the population/database that T-Mobile has.

9. Finances: If applicable, have you mobilized any of the following resources so far?

  • Friend support
  • Family support
  • Mentors/advisors

10. Ripple Effect: Please share some ideas of how you could partner with other changemakers or involve other young people as leaders in making a difference.

I have struggled and have continued to grow through my own personal experiences. I have Tourette’s, along with dealing with anxiety and depression disorders. Through these I am able to speak about my experiences with the positive outcome that I have. I feel that this provides and gives others an opportunity to be themselves along with providing them the confidence that they have the ability to step into their full potential of any situation.

As someone who has struggled with depression and anxiety, I can confidently say that mindset is everything. Sometimes I would be so in my head that I needed someone else to help me get out of my thoughts. I was fortunate enough to have my roommate's support, but for people out there that struggle to find the right support group, this would make a huge difference. A lot of people don't understand depression and anxiety and will just tell a person to "snap out of it" or "be happy". Therefore, I think a movement like this one needs an strong person that can relate to others. I believe you have the passion necessary to guide the youth through their struggles. I wish you the best of luck and I can't wait to see where this movement will go.
