Project Stage: Select the description below that best applies to your approach.

  • Growth (have moved past the very first activities; working towards the next level of expansion)

1. Personal Journey: What’s the story behind why you decided to start this project? NOTE: All applications must include a 1 minute video that answers: “I am stepping up to make change because..."

I decided to become a changemaker because I want to change the face of modern day entrepreneurship. I want to help people of all socioeconomic situations become more financially literate and technologically savvy. I grew up in the rough inner city of Baltimore, Maryland, but was grateful enough to have the opportunity to attend college out of state and pursue my entrepreneurial endeavors.

I plan to change the false narrative of minorities not being successful in taking advantage of lucrative opportunities and to create a platform that everyone around the world can benefit from. Many present day investment opportunities and educational programs are extremely expensive, marketed towards affluent individuals or require a lot of experience to understand the concepts. I want to recreate the current system and break the mental slavery instilled in many minorities.

2. The Problem: What problem are you helping to solve?

The problem that I want to solve is that overall there is a lack of financial literacy, financial independence and technological savviness in the multicultural community and the world as a whole. I want individuals to be able to use business and technology as a tool to achieve their true passions and to help solve the global poverty crisis.

3. Your Solution: How are you planning to solve this problem? Share your specific approach.

I plan on solving the aforesaid problem by creating a system that teaches individuals about new and emerging technologies and how to take profitable action. Blockchain technology is the first technological advancement that I have chose to thoroughly research and incorporate into my training curriculum. The rise of cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology is a revolution that is still in its infancy stage. By introducing this new technology at such an early stage to the world we can beat the learning curve and help as many people take part in a real technology movement. Blockchain technology, arguably considered as the “fifth evolution” of computing is here to stay. Blockchain solves real world complications in the most efficient and secure way we have seen to date. A peer-to-peer data structure that makes it possible to create a digital ledger of information and send that information seamlessly and securely across borders to independent parties is a necessity. This technological breakthrough will be incorporated into every business function and there is unlimited opportunity for growth and financial prosperity.

4. Example: Please walk us through a specific example of what happens when a person or group gets involved with your project.

If an individual currently wants to be apart of our learning community we have a myriad of options for them to do so. Currently we offer office hours in our newly developed Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Blockchain Lab at Morehouse College on Tuesdays from 11am- 1pm for all interested students in the Greater Atlanta area. All one has to do is register online with the link that we send out to about 1000+ students a week through our innovative email campaigns.

We also have a private community channel where individuals can pay a 0.01 BTC (approx. $80-$100 USD) one time membership fee and receive daily information and training through a user friendly application. We have also just partnered with the Ecosystem: Wealth Creation App as well to move our private channel from discord to our own application available in the app store where we will be giving out relevant useful information.

5. The X Factor: What is different about your project compared to other programs or solutions already out there?

The difference between my platform and the myriad of competitors is that we are actually impacting the communities we serve from the ground level by collaborating with local colleges, religious facilities, social media influencers, volunteering initiatives to help introduce emerging technology to underserved communities. We are also the first organization of its kind to introduce blockchain technology to HBCUs by opening a blockchain lab on campus. Our lab has changed the lives of hundreds of students and has impacted the local community through our engaging events and guests that visit.

6. Impact: How has your project made a difference so far?

My project has made a huge difference in the communities in which I have entered. My first speaking engagement was held at Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA in early February of 2018 and we had 50 students and faculty attend. The name of our first event was “An introduction to blockchain technology and how to stay safe in a digital world”; we created a lot of buzz within the local Atlanta start-up community and connected with Venture capitalist and angel investor Rodney Sampson who we would late collaborate with to open the Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Blockchain Lab at Morehouse College. We have also developed a very close relationship with the Morehouse College Entrepreneurship Center and have collaborated on several events and host office hours weekly that has helped introduce new and emerging technology and offer mentorship solutions to some 500+ students since inception.

7. What’s Next: What are your ideas for taking your project to the next level?

With our partnership with Opportunity Hub, we plan to take our initiative to 40 HBCU’s and HSI’s by the end of 2018 and open Entrepreneurship and blockchain labs around the globe. In conjunction with Opportunity Hub, we are also putting together a partnership with the country of Jamaica and a local university on a project called “Jamica Nation”, which is a project geared towards helping the less fortunate people of the country of Jamaica by offering them innovative education and training programs on needed skills such as coding and sales training. With our initiative we plan on teaching the aforementioned individuals these skills and getting them employed in their home country to keep retention and talent in a land that needs it.

8. Future Support: What are the resources needed to make your vision a reality?

The main resources needed to make our vision a reality is funding and partnerships with leading organizations such as T-Mobile and Ashoka. We plan on raising investments primarily for brand expansion and company payroll. We plan to use the money raised to hire two additional internal highly skilled blockchain developers to assist our current team on a myriad of developments for current and prospective clients and fund our "Blockchain Education Tour", which plans to be an educational tour visiting 30 underserved cities/communities and offering engaging financial literacy and computer literacy vocations and workshops for the general public, and for Marketing, PR and other miscellaneous expenses (legal, product inventory, etc.)

9. Finances: If applicable, have you mobilized any of the following resources so far?

  • Donations over $10k

10. Ripple Effect: Please share some ideas of how you could partner with other changemakers or involve other young people as leaders in making a difference.

We would love to partner with other changemakers or involve other young people in making a difference because we simply cannot do it alone! We need the help of as many people around the world to assist in introducing our innovative platforms to underserved communities and we can work with other changemakers to create an innovative ecosystem. Blockchain technology is arguably the most disruptive technology the world has seen since the development and widespread adaptation of the internet. This technological phenomenon has and will continue to disrupt the current financial system and industries dealing with sensitive data. Not only is blockchain technology innovative and fascinating, but it has proven to be fiscally rewarding as well. The wealth gap between the have and the have nots has been increasing tremendously and has not shown any sign of slowing down, Daily Dividends plans to bridge the aforesaid wealth gap by introducing emerging technologies to underserved communities and coming up with profit generating, action based game plans for all clients and associates and we can use the help of other changemakers and youth around the globe to make this a global platform!
