Project Stage: Select the description below that best applies to your approach.

  • Idea (hoping to get started in the future)

1. Personal Journey: What’s the story behind why you decided to start this project? NOTE: All applications must include a 1 minute video that answers: “I am stepping up to make change because..."

I am stepping up to make change because i see potential in these people who have so little in the world it starts with a good foundation which is a place to live from there the doors open up for these people they are able to get and hold down jobs have families and be safe and happy in life my experience with being homeless was that there werent enough shelters to support me some were full others had long waiting list! By opening a shelter or more shelters we can better peoples lives and help families in need!

2. The Problem: What problem are you helping to solve?

The problem: HOMELESS FAMILIES AND INDIVIDUALS
-this problem is around because the price of living is too exspensive for some people living here also its nearly impossible to get a job while being homeless because a requirement is that you have an address.
-solving this matters so much because we could change someones path in life we could lift them up to become successful individuals who may go on to do great things!

3. Your Solution: How are you planning to solve this problem? Share your specific approach.

Building a shelter for homeless people hiring volunteers to work in the shelter have staff leaders to help homeless with getting a job getting on welfare and ssi income getting children inrolled in school have staff baby sitters to watch children while parents are job hunting or working. Have activities going on in the shelter that promote a healthy life style.

4. Example: Please walk us through a specific example of what happens when a person or group gets involved with your project.

Ok so say an organization wants to get involved in this movement first step would be having a meeting and discussing in which area they are interested in building a shelter what amenities will be available to the people of the shelter action plan will be made which includes floor plans for building the shelter and volunteers involved in running the shelter. Or a plan to find staff(volunteers) in the community for the shelter.

5. The X Factor: What is different about your project compared to other programs or solutions already out there?

I would like my shelter to be different from other shelters by serving only vegan food for bettering peoples health also having excercising classes and meditation areas for bettering the mind soul and body also unlike most shelters i want these shelters to have no time restraints which means a person can stay at the shelter as long as they need as long as they are excelling in life which includes meeting with a staff counselor once a week checking in on how they are mentally and physically finding a job or holding down a current job and starting up or holding down a savings.

6. Impact: How has your project made a difference so far?

It would be very simple to know that my idea is making a difference by working in the shelter myself and being face to face with the families im helping hearing there stories and watching them prosper and grow !

7. What’s Next: What are your ideas for taking your project to the next level?

Next level would be being sponsored in other states to open up more vegan healthy mind body and soul shelters and another way i could expand is selling things like art or snacks house to house or at an event to raise money for this cause.

8. Future Support: What are the resources needed to make your vision a reality?

Website....funding....team memebers....land to build shelters on....sponsors.

9. Finances: If applicable, have you mobilized any of the following resources so far?

  • Friend support
  • Family support

10. Ripple Effect: Please share some ideas of how you could partner with other changemakers or involve other young people as leaders in making a difference.

I know some amazing open minded people through social media and in my community who would love to be apart of this movement! I love meeting and working with new people with similar agendas.

Homelessness is a severe issue and it's always nice to see more people working to help the problem. If you ever consider opening a shelter in Seattle, we'd love to add you to our Seattle S.A.F.E. shelter database!
