Idea (hoping to get started in the future)
1. Personal Journey: What’s the story behind why you decided to start this project? NOTE: All applications must include a 1 minute video that answers: “I am stepping up to make change because..."
As a College student who is endlessly curious, I always hate when life's troubles block us from further knowledge. As a young woman who has seen much of the world, hate that even our solutions to suffering are limited by our social stance. I believe that awareness is the key to addressing many of the world's problems and struggles.
2. The Problem: What problem are you helping to solve?
Ignorance. There is a very large population of young people who do not know the whole scope of problems that face the world today. This leads to the perpetuation of stereotypes, heightened racial and socio-economic tensions, as well as a political system in shambles that has been passed down from generation to generation. The inability to find realness in the posttruth society means that young people need a safe path to finding out what truth is.
3. Your Solution: How are you planning to solve this problem? Share your specific approach.
As a media powerhouse Tribe Human would produce narrative and educational videos, movies, and social media that helped enlighten and empower young people across the globe. The start with teaching Media literacy classes in libraries across the community as well as a series of movies that expand on finding trustworthy news in this day and age.
4. Example: Please walk us through a specific example of what happens when a person or group gets involved with your project.
Students who take our media literacy class will learn how to fact check, intercultural approaches to problem-solving and ethical conversations. These students will learn how to keep themselves safe online, and how to better represent themselves in life.
5. The X Factor: What is different about your project compared to other programs or solutions already out there?
Many people talk about the dangers of the internet and social media, but no one talks to the youth who are shaping the way that media evolves. giving students access to knowledge that they might not otherwise get until college helps those young people get a step up in life and in their future careers
6. Impact: How has your project made a difference so far?
When we start to see better interpersonal interactions with the students, and when they are comfortable enough to try and help teach someone else. That's when we know that we're getting down to making tangible change.
7. What’s Next: What are your ideas for taking your project to the next level?
Spreading the word and getting training going in libraries all across Denver. Over the next year, getting a solid production crew together to start making a big social media presence and to start thinking about what other areas of awareness that we can shed light on.
8. Future Support: What are the resources needed to make your vision a reality?
Money to host classes and have the technology available to teach at least 15 students per class/training, Connections to teachers and educators to get the word out. And a solid lawyer to oversee the creation of contracts.

Once we build a bigger team we can expand our media journalism into helping address other problems in our community, such as homelessness or Mental Illness.
