Project Stage: Select the description below that best applies to your approach.
Idea (hoping to get started in the future)
1. Personal Journey: What’s the story behind why you decided to start this project? NOTE: All applications must include a 1 minute video that answers: “I am stepping up to make change because..."
2. The Problem: What problem are you helping to solve?
Social issues are those which affect the human society as a whole. These issues are pertaining human behavior, bullying, religious conflicts, gender inequalities, economic disparities and more. This NEEDS to be solved because it creates an unsafe environment for everyone and creates bottled up emotions that will come out in dangerous, harmful ways that do not help anyone. solving this will be a step forward in healthy living for teens.
3. Your Solution: How are you planning to solve this problem? Share your specific approach.
the people willing to come forth and share their stories of their voice not being heard, being bullied, depression, anxiety's are brave.( if they want to remain anonymous they can do so.) I would like to help share those stories around the world and offer advice, solutions, or help services. I would have a YouTube channel where i have people willing to tell their stories. People will send an email and i will take some time to get information, find help, and find answers to help these people. i would also have people send me advice on how they got over or dealt with these things in the past whether that be by music, painting or anything else. I would also make content to make people happy and smile because even if they are having hardships people should be able to smile. This will make the internet more of a safe space. The internet is usually associated with negativity and i would like to change that.
4. Example: Please walk us through a specific example of what happens when a person or group gets involved with your project.
Hypothetical situation: I receive an email from a person and they tell me about how their voice is not heard. How they have all these brilliant ideas but their friend and peers just mock him or her and now they feel insecure and have all this bottled up anger and sadness and feel alone. i would then do some research by calling or emailing people who have dealt with this before, professionals, and my/my peers own experiences and create a response where in a video i talk about the topic/problem and state the researched information of solutions, situations, and possible healthy outlets that can help deal with the issue. i would then open up the discussion to the public who follow me and get their input and advice, and if they want i would talk to them about their ideas and help them out.
5. The X Factor: What is different about your project compared to other programs or solutions already out there?
the difference between my project and other organizations is that mine will make the whole experience more community oriented and comfortable. while other programs have and adult or a specialist just talking to a kid i will be getting voices from kids who have had similar experiences and that can connect with the person. When talking to people your age with the same problems you feel more comfortable to be honest and forthcoming. this also would be connecting people all over the world and could even create friendships. connection and feeling safe are key and my program does this.
6. Impact: How has your project made a difference so far?
I am currently in the idea stage. I would know that i am making a difference by having people all around the world sending me emails with their problems hoping that i can help. The fact that people will confide in me will show me i am making a difference. Not only that, but if i also start to learn and progress as a person from this i will know im making a difference. i should be learning just as much as the people im helping.
7. What’s Next: What are your ideas for taking your project to the next level?
i would like to partner with companies that have influence so i can keep sharing peoples stories and offer help
8. Future Support: What are the resources needed to make your vision a reality?
for my vision to become reality i would need sponsorship, partnerships, and funding in order to get started and have everything i need to get started. i need an image and a face before i start getting an audience.
9. Finances: If applicable, have you mobilized any of the following resources so far?
Donations between $100-$1k
10. Ripple Effect: Please share some ideas of how you could partner with other changemakers or involve other young people as leaders in making a difference.
i have spoken to philosophy and theory of knowledge educators on human behavior and activities for the past year. i could partner with other change makers by connecting our audiences and helping with their ideas. My brother who is also doing the change maker challenge will be my partner.
