1.Founding Story: Share a story about the "Aha!" moment that led the founder(s) to get started or the story of how you saw the potential for this to succeed.
Jones Software Corp. journey begins in 2009. As a Senior Financial Advisor for Merrill Lynch, located in Merrillville, IN., my objective was to build bridges into surrounding underserved communities ( Gary, Hammond, IN). Identifying communities pillars ( Clergy, Business, Educators, Aldermen, etc.,) I was drawn to the unique challenges of the Education Community ( Over-crowed classrooms, Single Parent Households, Lack of Technology, etc.,) Kenya Brooks-Jones and I started to tutor/mentor students after school ended.
Due to a lack of technology funding in underserved communities, we utilized 8.5 by 11 notebook paper to build fluency exercises and to increase math efficacy and self-esteem for students. As time progressed our notebook pap

The Every Student Succeed Act (ESSA) is the law that guides schools requirements for
scholars’ success perimeters. The law requires: movement toward equity for disadvantaged and high need scholars, all scholars to be taught with high academic standards as preparation for college and
career success, education and support communities receive important information from annual

3. Your Solution: How are you planning to solve this problem? Share your specific approach.
JSC develops iLikeMath-Cares Program (iLikeMath), an adaptive learning software,
designed to analyze, assess and profile a student strengths and deficiency in Math. JSC
identifies a personalized learning curriculum designed for scholars to reach present grade level.
iLikeMath enhances procedural Math instruction for scholars performing below grade level. Scholars
earn points for our meritocracy program through their assessment and exercise scores from the
iLikeMath curriculum. These points are used for scholars to earn rewards focused on exposure and
learning lifelong skills such as college and career readiness, mentor-protégé relationships and personal
development. We believe scholars can achieve greatness with opportunities and champions such as our mentor-scholar program. Scholars who obtain direct coaching, mentoring and transferrable skills such as critical thinking, problem solving, conflict resolution and good citizenship are able to confidently compete in a S.T.E.M., environment.

ST Math is game-based instructional software for K-12 and is designed to boost math comprehension and proficiency through visual learning.
McGraw-Hill's "Connect" is a web-based assignment / assessment platform that helps you connect
your students to their coursework and to success beyond the course.
JSC, Advantages over the competitions:

7. Impact: How has your project made a difference so far?
J-Soft vision is to maximize student potential. We achieve this by championing Innovation in a collaborative effort with students, educators, community and leveraging corporate resources. We are making a difference on multiple fronts: From students competing with peers to increase math efficacy, in the process earning meritocracy points to earn field trips to participate in events such at Digi-Girlz at Microsoft Aon Center ( Chicago) where girls, Primary and Secondary students receive a sneak peek at what a career in technology would look like, to students who have never engaged in class activities, performing a 360 and leading group projects when we mentor Primary students in partnership with IBM.
8a. Spread Strategies: Moving forward, what are the main strategies for scaling your impact?
Expansion – Currently JSC is based out of 1871, a shared office space located in the Merchandise Mart Plaza. Our goal is expansion and private office space at an economical cost within the Chicagoland area to conduct daily business.
➢ Travel – JSC will expand our business reach to contact potential school district, located in multiple states outside of IL. Our business model is based on sustainability and predictability. This process will be repeated first domestically and in future years international.
