After 10 years in for profit business I became a volunteer mentor to a girl in foster care. This opened my eyes to a world I had no idea existed. From there I became a volunteer guardian ad litem advocating for abused and neglected kids in juvenile court. Now I have founded an organization dedicated to helping children and families impacted by trauma, abuse, and poverty build and maintain a solid foundation for the future. I believe families and their individual journeys should be the building block for their future, not what government dictates their journey should be.
To the entire PDCR team.....Hip Hip Hooray! Love the family engagement, love the positivity, love the collaboration, love the "we"......LOVE LOVE LOVE! We work with restorative justice and trauma informed care and this adds a new component engaging each system the family engages with! Keep up the good work....we will be following your progress and who knows....someday we'll bring your training to CT! Peace
Bravo for youth involvement in policy and legislation that directly impacts their lives and the lives of all youth/children! We need more organizations engaging and empowering youth versus taking a paternalistic approach! Keep up the GREAT work.
