Yes, I did indeed get awarded the patent. It's for a musical implement for percussionists so that you can play chords on a xylophone or marimba in a natural way.

Well that invention was really cool!

I love how you are empowering inventors around a specific topic - that always seems to work well and inspires students to think about a specific plan.

I think it would be really cool if you developed a grant for high school and university students to develop and commercialize inventions for visually impaired folk. These could be apps but also hardware products that will require more R&D, specialized design software, and partnering with actual manufacturers. You could probably grant students $50k with sponsorship from companies like Microsoft or companies that make products for the visually impaired.
