I began my career permitting hazardous waste facilities in California. I soon realized that the more industrialized we become, the more waste we generate. I have been passionate about reducing waste in industrial segment since. I have worked in all media, air and water ; and have become fascinated with relationship of cross-media pollution. In 2014, I received Resources Award from the International
Sustainability Summit Working Group for my work on advanced membrane and electrochemical technologies. Exergy has won product innovation and other awards for our work verifying its importance.
I am not sure why there is some confusion about proof of concepts. Exergy has built over a dozen system which have been sold commercially. Also, we have MVP in ultrapure segment that has been tested and validated in disk drive and semiconductor segment. I am happy to provide details on these projects. We have also published on the ultrapure segment work which is available publicly.
We feel finance and insurance industry should look at the resources footprint of the companies they finance and/or insure. Largely, this has been overlooked but as CSR requirements become more pervasive, the customer resources footprint should have a deep bearing on their financial stability and should also have an impact on insurance rating and financing costs. I am not sure if the metrics used today in these industry exists but they should consider adding such metrics for the future.
