When I was 14 my mother was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder after experiencing mania that was terrifying for the family. I started receiving counseling to have support processing my feelings about the situation. One day, I was sitting in my therapist's office and I realized "Hey, this is a job I could do!" - that I could be a therapist and help people heal. Since then I knew I wanted to work with people, helping them heal as the "wounded healer" I am.
