The experience I have gained with previous nonprofit organizations have enabled me to develop a deep sense on the needs of vulnerable populations in Puerto Rico. From the many angles I have worked with, I am sure that children's wellbeing is an investment in our future, in order to raise productive, healthy and happy citizens. This inspires my work everyday, and it is my objective to spread it among my colleagues and the people I interact with.
Thanks, Michael! As part of the philosophy of United Way, it has a Collective Impact Model, which leads us to be a backbone organization and an entity that unifies and facilitates the work of the community, organizations and government. We believe that efforts are more effective if move together towards the same purpose.
Hello! Thanks for your comment. Right! It is a collaborative effort of different sectors of our society, in which the leaders are the same Work Plan managers. Regarding the component of socio-emotional development, we tie it in two ways. One is the implementation of the module "Positive Solutions" of the Center for Social and Emotional Foundations for Early Childhood. This is offered to parents and caregivers of children attending private care centers, Head Start centers, among others. The other way is through Workshops APRENDO, this is a series of workshops to educate staff Private Care Centers on how to model and educate about positive relationships. Both projects are based on the model Train the Trainer, because in both cases, we provide education to a key person in the life of the child and that person passes on the information and promotes socio-emotional development.
