During law school, I took courses on Family Law and Child Abuse & Neglect. I served as a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) and then a GAL (Guardian ad Litem). Because of my work as a GAL, I was asked to serve as the Chair of the Cabarrus County Child Protection Team and have been active in that role since February 2014. As chair, I view my position as one of the most important jobs I have. I focus on creating networks within our team so that professionals can use one another as resources. I attempt to continuously focus our team on the best interests of the children.
